# Sanilog

## Why we built it

Most of this work still runs on phone calls, whiteboards, and spreadsheets. We didn't set out to fix software in general, just this one corner of it: portable toilets, dumpsters, handwash stations, septic tanks, restroom trailers, and the operators who move them.

Sanilog wasn't drawn up in a boardroom. It grew out of a real business, Andrew's, the portable sanitation company my father-in-law has run for years. It ran his routes, invoices, and dispatch for two years before we opened it to anyone else. Every screen came out of a real bad Monday, not a guess.

So it knows how the work actually goes: 28-day billing, tracking units by serial number, seasons that swing hard, and drivers who need an app that still works in a dead zone on a rural road.

## What it does

One system instead of a pile of spreadsheets and tools that don't talk to each other:

- **Inventory** - Every unit tracked by serial number: portable toilets, dumpsters, handwash stations, septic tanks, trailers. See what's available, deployed, dirty, in repair, or retired without calling the yard.
- **Clients and sites** - Customer profiles with contacts, billing, and GPS-tagged sites, each one pinned and searchable on the map.
- **Contracts** - 28-day cycles handled for you. Pro-rating, seasonal pauses, event jobs, several units on one contract. Set it up once and the invoices keep coming.
- **Routes** - Builds the shortest sensible order of stops for each driver, 30+ stops and all, and re-plans when the day changes. Less driving, less fuel.
- **Jobs** - Deliveries, pickups, swaps, cleanings, pump-outs, emergencies. Drag-and-drop scheduling, photo proof with time and GPS, and a full trail of who did what.
- **Driver app** - Built offline-first so it works everywhere your drivers go. They see their stops, mark them done, snap proof photos, and get directions. It syncs when they're back in range.
- **Invoicing** - Invoices build themselves from finished jobs and active contracts. Batch billing, pro-rating, payment tracking. Accounting sync is on the way.
- **Numbers** - Revenue, utilization, driver and client trends over 12 months. See what's working and drop what isn't.
- **Team** - Roles for owners, managers, dispatchers, and drivers, so everyone sees just their part. Driver accounts are unlimited.
- **Automation** - Auto-invoicing, auto-assignment, and alerts for missed stops, overdue invoices, and low stock. Less busywork, fewer mistakes.
- **Live map** - Every unit, driver, and job on one live map. Your whole operation on one screen.
- **Sani** - An optional AI coworker that knows your operation. Ask it things, have it write the message you're dreading, let it take the busywork. Paid add-on.
